Help Fixing My Broken Down Care

Help Fixing My Broken Down Care

Hello all!

I am Jeremy M. I am almost 19 years old.

When I was 4 I was abandoned by both of my parents and I have been in DCF foster care custody for the past 18 years.

It's fair to say that I haven't had an early childhood. However, along the way I have met many remarkable people and received very valuable services.

This past June I was released from the State's custody and still not having any real family members. This is an extremely intimidating time for me.

In these tough economic times, it is very difficult finding and keeping a job while also trying to a get a steady schedule in order to enroll back in college. One of the remarkable people that I have had the pleasure of meeting along my journey has been my case worker, Bob.

I have known Bob for at least 5 years and he has been fantastic. He always finds the time to listen and offer advice. More importantly, he truly cares about my well being. In recent months I have found myself having financial problems and keeping my head above water. I contacted Bob looking for guidance and reassurance which as always, I received.

He then contacted your charity and explained my situation to you. Days later I received a check from Cherish the Children. I cannot express in words the gratitude I feel not only for the monetary value but the feelings that so many people care and that there is always hope.

The countless and faceless children and you help is amazing. At times I am sure it seems as though it is a thankless and endless mission. Endless maybe, but let's hope not thankless definitely nor because I am truly thankful for all the wonderful things you do for me and all the other children that you help.

In the future when things get more stable for me, I absolutely plan on taking what I have learned and felt through my experiences and help kids that are lea fortunate as you have done for me. Please keep up the good work and know that it is greatly appreciated.

Forever Grateful,

Jeremy
